Sister Monica, thank you for sharing St. Monica's strength and blessing through this beautiful artform. St. Monica is a consolation for all mothers who pray for the child who seems to be lost and searching. Our loving, merciful God continues to watch over each one.

Sr. Monica, I enjoyed your explanation of your icon of St. Monica as you were creating it. May her perseverance in prayer be a source of strength as you continue to discern your call to the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity. I have a niece named Monica and she and her little family just moved from IN to MI. Her husband has been German professor at Butler University and now has accepted one in MI. Monica previously worked in Austria at the U.S. Embassy as she has German as a major plus International Finance & Studies. Keep up your good works and as you know we at St. Mary's, NE do remember you in prayer. Now you have 4 postulants you can enjoy! Gratefully in St. Francis, Sr. Sharon Paul

Happy Feastday, Sister Monica! Your patron saint reminds me of the power of prayer. Perseverance in prayer can change us even as we pray for someone else to make good choices in their life. Thank you for sharing about your icon.

This was so well done. I posted it to my Facebook page and forgot to comment here. Thank you for exposing and expanding our devotion to and knowledge of St. Monica.

    Hello Sr. Monica,

I loved the display of icons in the St. Rita chapel this summer. Somehow it touched my heart to see the work of novices today at the foot of the San Damiano cross with our Founders at the bottom. It stretches over the years from the 1800's. Then it stretches further back to the time of Francis of Assisi, when he received his call at the foot of the San Damiano cross. May your fidelity be as strong as our Founders in WI and the early members of the Franciscan order in Assisi.
