Here’s How Franciscan Sisters Go On the Road

Paul Keggington

September 11, 2011

On September 10, 2011, Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity began another year of   ‘on the road’ music outreach to Catholic parishes. This time we loaded up instruments in vans and headed west to Holy Cross Parish, Mount Calvary, WI at the invitation of Father Steven Krupp OFM Cap. We met some wonderful folks.

Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, Novices and Postulant Regina served in music ministry in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee at Holy Cross Church, Mount Calvary, WI on September 10, 2011.

In the past most of our liturgical gigs were within an hour drive from the Manitowoc, WI. (Yes, we are open to exceptions!) Often we take the place of dedicated musicians who enjoy a night off or add music where there is typically no liturgical accompaniment. We look for places that have little Sister presence who might be open to meeting some Franciscans who enjoy just hanging out, making a  joyful noise and praying with others.
